Loan App recovery officer arrested for woman’s suicide

Visakhapatnam city police on Monday arrested a loan collector for allegedly playing a key role in the alleged suicide of a 25-year-old woman, Mandava Ahalada of Gajuwaka.

The arrest has been identified as Pune-based Goutham Mule, working as a loan collection agent for a loan collection company in Koregaon Park, Pune. According to the police, the loan collection company worked for a private bank in Pune of Maharashtra. Police also established the roles of three other people – Parasuram Lahu, Liang Tiantian and HR Hakib Sheik – in connection with the woman’s alleged suicide.

Based on the complaint filed by Ahalada’s mother, Usha Rani, the Gajuwaka police registered a case under ICC Article 306 (incitement to suicide) and handed over the case to the central police station. crime for investigation.

Family members told police the deceased was depressed due to alleged harassment and pressure from loan collectors. Loan collectors repeatedly sent her voicemails and humiliating messages.

The investigation also revealed that the deceased had repaid more than 80% of the loan amount with interest. However, she is said to be in depression as she received regular calls from them.
