Emergency officer booked for a transplant in a loan application case

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) brought action against Lalit Bazad, agent of the Execution Directorate (ED) of Bengaluru, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to unfreeze an account Professional from Finvest Loan App Company.

The Bengaluru ED unit had recorded an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) to investigate an instant mobile app loan case, which Hyderabad’s Central Crime Station (CCS) referred to. The investigation was entrusted to Manoj Mittal, deputy director, ED Bengaluru and Lalit Bazad assisted him.

Lalit emailed a summons to Mikhil Innani, Managing Director of Apollo Finvest, Mumbai, on February 5, asking him to report to the ED office on February 9. Mikhil showed up at the office with two other people on February 9 and met Lalit. The trio took a flight from Bengaluru the same day and reached Mumbai overnight.

According to the CBI FIR, it is learned that Lalit made a WhatsApp call to Mikhil and asked him for Rs. 5 lakh to unfreeze the bank account frozen by ED. Mikhil, who answered the calls, was forced to arrange the money requested by Lalit on the same day.

It was revealed that Lalit, who was present at a pub in Bangalore, was sharing the location with a pub server’s phone. A package containing Rs. 5 lakh was kept in Lalit’s car by the pub car park staff. The staff received it from a certain Manvender Bhati who gave it on the instructions of a jeweler Rajendra Jain.

Jain gave Bhati money following the instructions of Hosur-based granite businessman Suni at the request of Mikhil’s relative. Apollo Finvest’s bank account frozen by ED was finally unfrozen on February 16 after receiving the money.
